Christmas Parade set for November 27

NORWAY/SOUTH PARIS - The 34th Annual Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is set to go on Saturday, November 27 at 11 a.m. beginning at the head of High Street and Route 26 in South Paris and continuing to the end of Maine Street in Norway. Participants may begin lining up at approximately 9 a.m. and judging for outstanding floats will begin at 9:30 a.m. This year's theme is "A Storybook Christmas," and registrations are currently being accepted at the Chamber office on 4 Western Avenue in South Paris.

This year the Chamber has requested that all floats line up on Western Avenue beginning at the Nichols Street extension and going back with staging and parking in the mill parking lot and in the parking area near the Paris Fire Station.

New this year, the Key Club will be asking for food donations along the parade route. Canned food for the needy would be appreciated so please plan on bringing what you can to help make a family's holiday brighter.

Music from the high school and middle school bands, majorettes, Kora Fun Cars, "Crusher" from the Red Claws, the Roller Derby Girls, T-Shirt Cannons from the National Guard and of course Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will highlight this parade, one of the largest in the state of Maine. Don't forget to visit with Santa and get an autograph from the Roller Derby Girls at the Norway Fire Station after the parade ends.

Call the Chamber at 743-2281 for details.
