BUCKFIELD — The Young Lucky Buckaroo Kids 4-H club of Buckfield is still looking for donations of bottles. It is raising money to help the kids go to Bryant Pond 4-H camp and learning center this summer. Drop off bottles at Payne’s Redemption Center on Paris Hill in South Paris or the club will pick up through July 5 in the Norway/South Paris or Buckfield areas. For information contact 336-3688.
OXFORD — Oxford School Age Child Care & Preschool will be hosting a public breakfast on Sunday, June 19, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Oxford Community Center. BOLSTERS MILLS — A “Famous” chicken pie supper will be served Saturday, June 18 at the Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church. First seating is 5 p.m., second at 6 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under the age of 12. The church is handicap accessible and air conditioned.

SOUTH PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club had to cancel its June dance that had been scheduled for June 11 and then rescheduled for June 18. The school has notified the group that the cafeteria where they hold their dances is not available due to a school function.
BRIDGTON — DancingTrees is holding a tag sale on Saturday, June 18 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the patio at the Magic Lantern, Main St. in Bridgton. The sale will feature furniture, household items and unique sundries. Come early.
NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital is offering “Diabetes Self Management Education” this summer.
Classes will be held on Mondays, beginning June 27 from 4-6 p.m. All classes will be held in the Stephens Memorial Hospital Boardroom (next to cafeteria). Refreshments will be served.
Individuals newly diagnosed with diabetes or needing a refresher course are encouraged to attend. Participants attending all four classes will have their name entered into a drawing for a $25 gas card.
There is a charge for the class and insurance will be billed. Scholarships are also available; please call for more information. Please call 744-6057 to register.

NORWAY — A household hazardous waste day will be held Saturday, June 25, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Norway-Paris Solid Waste on 39 Brown Street in Norway.
Residents with a NPSW dump sticker will receive three coupons for disposal of items such as furniture, appliances, tires (limit of four tires without rims), propane tanks, 20 pounds only, etc. Coupons can be picked up at the Transfer Station beginning June 1. For more information, call 743-8518.
NORWAY — An ice cream social is set for Tuesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Church on Paris St. in Norway. This event is sponsored by Christ Episcopal Church and St. Catherine's Catholic Church, and will be held rain or shine. Tickets are $5/kids free.
WATERFORD — An indoor yard sale will be held Saturday, June 18 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Plummer Hill Rd. in Waterford (next to the church). Proceeds from this event will benefit the maintenance fund.
MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a Spring Festival on Friday, June 17 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This event will help raise the funds needed to send kids to camp this summer. Friday night: a chili cook off; the chili will then be sold off for dinner, for small donations. The festival will be held at 5 Oak St. in Mechanic Falls. NORWAY — The Second Congregational Church of Norway will again be sponsoring a free dinner on Friday, June 17 from 5-6:30 p.m. The menu consists of hot dogs (on the grill), baked beans, pasta salad, juice, coffee and desserts by Bruce.
NORWAY — A public bean supper will be held Saturday, June 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Norway Masonic Hall, 9 Temple Street in Norway. There will be four types of homemade beans, hot dogs, cole slaw, bread, beverages, and homemade pies, all you can eat. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
BRYANT POND — A public roast pork supper will be held Saturday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Masonic building on Main Street, Route 26, in Bryant Pond. The cost is $7 – adults; $5 – children 10 and under. Menu: roast pork, mashed potatoes, pork stuffing, gravy, carrots, applesauce, dinner rolls, homemade pies, bread pudding and coffee, tea and water. Diabetic desserts will be available. POLAND — A strawberry festival will be held on Saturday, June 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Poland Spring on Route 26. The festival, sponsored by Poland Community Church, will feature strawberry shortcake and assorted desserts.
SOUTH PARIS — A summer salad will be held Saturday, June 25, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Deering Memorial Methodist Church on 39 Main Street in South Paris. This will also include roast turkey and baked ham (you mix and match) plus homemade ice cream with fresh strawberries. The cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. There is ample parking behind the library and town office.
