NORWAY — Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26 are the dates set for the annual kitten shower being held at the Responsible Pet Care Shelter, 132 Waterford Road in Norway, from noon to 4 p.m. Why not stop by and visit the adorable kittens; they just love visitors. Bring a donation and sign up for door prizes. There will also be a raffle. Refreshments will be served, and if you wish, there will be a drive-up donation spot designated in the yard. Suggested gifts are monetary donations for the kitten shower tree in the lobby, KMR milk replacement powder, non-clumping kitty litter, Purina kitten chow, toys, baby blankets, bath size towels, bleach and paper towels.
WATERFORD — The Waterford Library is offering a weekly story time program Mondays at 1 p.m. beginning July 11 and continuing through August. It will be particularly appropriate for kids age two to six. Come make new friends and listen to some great stories, and perhaps check out some books to bring home.

POLAND SPRING — On June 25, the Poland Community Church will host its annual Strawberry Festival on the grounds of the Poland Spring Resort. From 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. you can enjoy strawberry treats prepared in a multitude of ways, as well as live music and other activities. All strawberries are picked locally at Chipman Farm. Purchase a red wristband for an all you can eat feast or purchase strawberry delicacies individually. Wristbands are $8 and all profits benefit the Poland Community Church. CASCO — Join in for the area’s biggest and best Flea Market and Auction of the summer on Saturday, July 9 on the Village Green, sponsored by – and right across from - the Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road (Route 121) in Casco. There will be over 50 vendors. Rain date is July 16.
Check out some of the items up for bid on the Auction Board: two-three nights in a Beacon Hill apartment, a week in Tucson, a camping package with pontoon boat rental, rounds of golf, photography, Mary Kay products, turkeys, carpentry and tractor work, a vacation at a St. Martin's time share, and much, much more. And wait until you see the plants and flowers for sale. You're in for some surprises. With food and children's activities, a bake sale and raffles, and of course the fabulous fleas, what better place to be on a summertime Saturday than right here in the Village.
SOUTH PARIS — Foster-Carroll American Legion Post 72 will be sponsoring a benefit supper for George Brown at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at the South Paris Legion Hall on Church Street. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under and may be bought in advance by calling Marilyn Ramsay at 743-5723. The menu for the supper will be chicken pie and all the fixings along with homemade dessert pies.
George has major medical problems. He has been very active in helping others in our community for many years. He is a veteran, a member of the Post and a volunteer fireman. Now comes the time when veterans and the community can help George. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
CASCO — Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road (Route 121) in Casco Village, is having another fantastic Saturday night supper on June 25 at 5 p.m. Join in for casseroles, baked beans, salads (a special addition this month), meatballs and of course homemade pies, all for the low price of $7 for adults, $4 for children under 10, and $20 max for families with young children, and that includes rolls and beverages. This supper is sponsored by the Church Board.
OXFORD — A flea market will be held on Saturday, June 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oxford Hills Assembly of God at 298 Coldwater Brook Road in Oxford, rain or shine. A snack bar will be available. Tables are for rent for $10. To reserve a table, call Cheryl Gray at 743-5840.
OXFORD — The Women’s Fellowship of Hosanna Church will be holding a yard sale on Saturday, June 25, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at the church located at 109 Schoolhouse Road in Oxford.
Proceeds from this sale will benefit the various services of the fellowship including providing food boxes during the holidays.
If you have items you would like to donate, drop them off at the church on Friday, June 24.
SOUTH PARIS — On Saturday, July 2, there will be a turkey supper and dance at the South Paris Legion Hall on Church Street. The supper will be from 5 to 6 p.m. and the dance with the Jones Band starts at 6:30 p.m. The cost of the supper is $7 and the dance is $5.
The Jones Band will also be playing on July 9, 16, 23 and 30, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Legion Hall. The cost will be $5 and the lunch counter will be open.
OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society will be holding a Rummage/Food Sale on Saturday, June 25 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Kay House Museum on Pleasant St. in Oxford.

HARRISON — The Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Ronald St. John Post 9328 will be selling their famous homemade pies on Saturday, June 25 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot beside the Harrison Village Library. The cost of each pie is $12. Come early to buy your favorite pie before they are sold out.
