Book signing
NORWAY — Local author Pat Gott will be signing books, including her latest, “Horse Tails by Famous Fred,” at Books 'n Things in Norway on Saturday, June 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Yard sale
Hebron — The East Hebron Extension Homemakers will hold a yard sale on Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., rain or shine, at McCafferty's Greenhouse, Townsend Rd. in East Hebron. Money raised helps support the group's community projects. This year activities include lap robes and clothing protectors for several nursing homes, knit hats for the Dempsey Center and monetary donations to several organizations. Yard, plant sales
NORWAY — Fare Share Co-op will be holding a yard and plant sale on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at 443 Main Street in Norway. Donations can be left at the Fare Share Commons on Friday, June 8, after 9 a.m.
NORWAY — A plant and indoor yard sale will be held on Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Universalist Unitarian Church at 479 Main Street in Norway. Perennials, seedlings and annuals will be available. The yard sale has everything but clothing, large furniture and electronics.
SUMNER — The Sumner Volunteer Fire Department is getting ready for its annual lawn, bake and plant sale. This will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sumner Fire Station. This year there will be a door prize and something for everyone.
Supper dance
PARIS — A turkey supper and dance will be held Saturday, June 2, at the South Paris Legion Hall on Church Street. The supper will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with a cost of $7. The Jones Band will be playing from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and the cost is $5. Other dances are scheduled for June 9, June 16, June 23, and June 30, from 7 to 10 p.m. and the cost will be $5.
Ham 'n beans
NORWAY — Second Congregational Church is having a Baked Ham and Bean Supper on Friday, June 1 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 10.
Also on the menu is macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, Jello salads, brownies, gingerbread and ice cream. Take out is available and beans will be available for sale by the pint and quart. Proceeds from the supper will be used for the many missions of the church.
Worship time is at 10 a.m. on Sundays and child care is available for infants and toddlers. For more information call the church office at 743-2290 or visit their website at www.seconch.com.
