Naples Farmers Market opens
NAPLES — Beginning Thursday, May 24, the Town of Naples will once again have a Farmers Market on the Village Green. The Farmers Market will be open every Thursday, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Labor Day.
Opening day will be full of music, food and fun. The Gazebo will host a number of local musicians entertaining the shoppers as they sample the wares of the local vendors. Come on out and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Market, meet the farmers who will join you each week and shop for locally produced food for your family.
The farmers and artisans are a collection of seasoned farmers market vendors and young farmers just beginning the journey. Vendors include Tourmaline Hill Farm of Greenwood, whose products are a variety of goat cheese flavored chevres, goat milk feta, ricotta and mozzarella, goat milk, goat milk kefir, goat milk yogurt and goat meat, as well as eggs, pork and beef.
Fitch Farm Kitchen of Stoneham, with baked goods and value added products such as hot sauce, dry mixes, pickles, relishes, herb oils and vinegars; Maine Garden Shed, also of Stoneham, will have vegetables, herbs plants, veggie seedlings and some “cottage chic” items such as birch displays, chalkboards and other creative items.
Green Roots Farm of North Waterford grows a variety of produce sustainably, as well as cut flowers and seedlings and they also have woodworking crafts and soaps.
Additional vendors are Goss Farm of West Poland and Mechanic Falls which combines two generations, one with mixed vegetables, pumpkins, apples and pears, and the other generation with blueberries and raspberries.
Meadow Ridge Perennial Farm of Hebron, whose products are hardy Maine grown perennials and flowering shrubs, fresh cut flower bouquets, sunflowers and glads and Thunder Hill Farm of Waterford, with their grass fed beef products, naturally raised pork and free range boiler chicken, eggs and maple syrup.
There will be guest vendors and music throughout the season. Make the Naples Farmers Market a part of your Thursday routine. Fresh locally grown vegetables, meats, cheeses and berries will be available for you and your family every week, rain or shine.
