Dance

HARRISON — The Harrison VFW post on the Waterford Road in Harrison will be having a BYOB dance on Saturday, May 19 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Admission is $10 per person for 21 and over. The band will be Country Ridge Riders. Call Ellen at 461-4558 for more information.

Cryptogram

SOUTH PARIS — Paris Public Library will host its fourth monthly Cryptogram challenge for enthusiastic word lovers and code breakers on Monday, May 21 at 11 a.m.

April's first place winner was Helen Jackson from South Paris. Second place winner was Beverly Kerry from Waterford.

Donations

NORWAY — Support area Veterans by donating good, clean used or like-new items such as furniture, sporting goods, electronics, tools, and household goods. Empty your closets, basements and garages and call Ron Snow at 744-9156 for pick-up.

All monies raised go to the Norway American Legion Post #82 and will serve local veterans. The sale will be held at Great Scott's Storage, Route 26 in Oxford, on July 20 and 21.

Yard sale

WATERFORD — An Indoor Yard Sale will be held Saturday, May 19 from 8 a.m.-12 noon on Plummer Hill, next to the church, in Waterford. There will be something for everyone; come check out the new set up. Proceeds go to the improvement fund for the buildings.

Plant sale

BETHEL — The annual Bethel Library Plant Sale will be held Saturday, June 2 from 9 to 10 a.m. on the lawn beside the library, 5 Broad Street, rain or shine. Donations of healthy, weed-free perennials are being accepted for the sale. Breakfast

HARRISON — The Harrison VFW, on the Waterford Road in Harrison, will hold its popular Public Breakfast on Sunday, May 20 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the post on Route 35. The breakfast features scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and country gravy, bacon, sausage, home fries, fruit cup, sweet breads, orange juice and beverage. Donations will be accepted.

Chicken pie

BOLSTERS MILLS — The first chicken pie supper of the season at the Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church will be this Saturday, May 19. Proceeds from this supper will be dedicated to providing scholarships for children wishing to go to Camp Mechuwana, a United Methodist Camp in Maine, this summer.

The supper will be held at the Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church in the village of Bolsters Mills in Harrison. There will two seatings at 5 and at 6 p.m. with a third seating to follow if necessary. Dinner includes chicken pie, mashed potato, gravy, vegetables, rolls, beverages, and dessert. The price is $8 for adults and $4 for children under the age of 12. Any additional donations toward scholarships beyond the supper price for this special May supper would be welcome.

Reservations will be taken only on Saturday morning, the day of the supper, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. by calling the church at 583-9024. Please do not leave a message: reservations must be confirmed. Otherwise, the sale of supper tickets will begin at 4 p.m. with seating available in the sanctuary until the supper.

Throughout the summer and fall, the suppers will be held on the third Saturday of each month ending with the final one in October.

The Church is handicap accessible.
