GOP candidate forum set

LEWISTON — The Franco-American Heritage Center will host the final GOP Senate Candidate Forum on Wednesday, May 16, at 7 p.m. The doors will open at 6 p.m. for crepes and beverages in the lower level.

The six Republican Senate candidates will be available to meet the public informally from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by their participation in a 7 p.m. forum program in the upper performance area with questions from the public.

The public is welcome and there is no admission charge. The event is sponsored by the GOP Committees of Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin Counties.

These candidates are for the vacant United States Senate seat previously held by Senator Olympia Snowe. Their primary election is June 12.

The candidates are Attorney-General William Schneider, Secretary of State Charles Summers, State Treasurer Bruce Poliquin, State Senator Debra Plowman, Richard Bennett and Scott D’Amboise.

The Franco-American Heritage Center is located at 46 Cedar Street in Lewiston with parking at adjacent lots.
