Texas Hold'em
HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will sponsor a Texas Hold'em Tournament on Saturday, May 5, at the VFW Hall on 176 Waterford Road in Harrison. The $55 entry fee includes the stipend for the State license fee. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., start time is 1 p.m. and end time is 6 p.m.
This is a BYOB event and food and refreshments will be available. It is limited to 100 players. Come and have some fun and the proceeds will be used to provide service that the Lions Club renders to the community.
Sale
PARIS — A rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 5, at the First Universalist Church on 36 Pine Street in South Paris. There will be something for everyone with the sale of clothes, books, fabrics, linens, dishes, shoes, white elephant items and a bag sale from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. A large plastic bag may be filled for $1 with items from the tables.
Plants, cookies
NORWAY — Beautiful plants and cookies will be on sale on Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to noon on the lawn at Christ Episcopal Church in Norway. In case of rain, come inside to the undercroft.
Smothered beef
BUCKFIELD — A public smothered beef dinner and ticket auction will be held Friday, May 4 at the Buckfield Masonic Hall in downtown Buckfield. Dinner will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Five Point Stat Club.
Casseroles
OTISFIELD — The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will hold a public supper on Saturday, May 12 from 5-6:30 p.m. They will be serving favorite casseroles and beans. Gluten free options will be available. The dinner will help support the Deacons Fund, which helps people in need in the area. The church is on Rayville Road, off Route 121.
Ham
RUMFORD — Rumford Grange 115 will have the first Sunday dinner of the season on Saturday, May 6, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. The cost will be $8 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. The dinner will include ham, potato, salad, pickles, rolls and the famous homemade pies by the Grange ladies.
