WEST PARIS — There will be a community potluck supper and game night at the First Universalist Church in West Paris on Friday, April 15, at 5:30 p.m. This is open to the public at no charge. Just bring a dish to share.
The supper will be followed by various games or just visiting with one another. Come and join in.
SOUTH PARIS — A spring rummage sale will be held on Saturday, April 9, in the Good Cheer Hall at the South Paris Universalist Church on 36 Pine Street. The rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, and a bag sale will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with big plastic bags for $1 each which patrons can fill without any more charge.
Featured at the sale will be a collectibles table as well as clean, secondhand household items and clothing displayed neatly at bargain prices.
POLAND — Greg Boardman of Auburn has been teaching and performing string music for nearly 40 years. He will accompany some of his middle school students – fiddlers, all – as they entertain guests attending the April Person to Person Potluck/Program at the Ricker Library in Poland. The event takes place in the Community Room of the library on Sunday, April 10. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a potluck supper. Guests are asked to bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. The program of toe-tapping music will follow at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy this evening of food, fiddles, and friendship sponsored by Friends of Ricker Library.
NORTH WATERFORD — On Sunday, April 10, regular services at the North Waterford Congregational Church, Five Kezars Road (off Rts. 35 & 37, opposite Melby's Market), will be held at 10 a.m. At 2 p.m. the annual meeting of the Oxford Union Association will be held and at 4 p.m., installation of Reverend Doretta Colburn as Pastor of the Oxford County United Parish (North Waterford and Stoneham) will take place. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a celebration dinner. All are welcome.
BRIDGTON — The Maine Canoe Symposium will be held June 10 to 12, at Camp Winona on Moose Pond, in Bridgton. Symposium allows participants of all ages to develop an understanding and appreciation of the diversity of North American canoeing heritage and to develop canoeing and related skills through educational workshops, presentations and hands-on instruction. CENTER LOVELL — The Thrift Shop of the Lovell United Church of Christ on Route 5 in Center Lovell will hold its Spring $1 a Bag Sale April 11-30. There will also be free winter clothing on the following days: April 25, April 27 and April 30.
Shop hours are Mondays, Wednesday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
EAST SUMNER — The Mothers’ Community Club of Sumner would like to invite all the children of Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield, ages two to 12 years, to the annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at the East Sumner Congregational Church on Main Street. Come and meet the Easter bunny and bring your own basket and dress for the weather of the day. An adult must accompany all children.
