Poetry reading at Ricker Library

POLAND — Check It Out!, the series of noontime programs sponsored by Friends of Ricker Library, will host award winning poet Robert Chute this month. Chute, a Poland resident and Bates Professor Emeritus of Biology, will speak about and read from his new collection of poems and photographs, "Wildness within Walking Distance: Poland Spring, Maine." Upper Range Pond and Bragdon Hill are featured in this collection.

The program will be held in the Community Room of Ricker Memorial Library in Poland on Wednesday, March 16, from 12 – 1 p.m. and is open to all. Guests are invited to bring their own lunches or to order a lunch prepared by Square Roots Natural Foods. To find out about selections and/or to order, one should call the Ricker Library, 998-4390, by noon on Tuesday, March 15. Lunches will be delivered to the library.
