Wildlife biologist to speak

POLAND — Deborah Perkins has studied grizzly bears in Alaska and black bears in Maine. She has also studied bears in Yellowstone, New Mexico and Tennessee. Perkins, a wildlife biologist, will present a slide show and talk about some of her bear experiences at the next Person to Person Potluck/Program, sponsored by Friends of Ricker Library. She will show photographs, taken in stunning Katmai National Park, of coastal brown bears. She will talk about bear behavior and biology, as well as about the challenges of bear conservation.

The March Person to Person presentation will be held on Sunday, March 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Ricker Memorial Library in Poland. Everyone is welcomed. Guests are asked to bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. Dinner hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with the program to follow at 6:30 p.m.
