Photography as story
NORWAY — On Thursday March 31, at 6:30 p.m., Norway Memorial Library will present "Beyond the Snapshot: Using Photography to Tell a Story," a talk by Scott Vlaun. This talk is part of the library's "Memoir: Lives & Stories" programming that began in October.
Scott will discuss some of the ways photography is used to tell stories, incorporate images in his discussion, and share thoughts and examples about the ways images are used alone or in combination with words to chronicle events and share experiences.
Scott Vlaun is documentary photographer living in Otisfield. He received his BFA in photography from the Portland School of Art and his MFA in photography and Art History from the University of New Mexico. His photographs appear in a variety of national publications and books related to food, gardening and sustainability.
