Public forum on energy planned

CASCO — There will be an informational meeting/public forum on Energy Sustainability & Efficiency on Monday, February 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Casco Community Center, 940 Meadow Road in Casco.

Are you interested in helping the Lakes Region become more energy efficient? Leaders and interested parties are seeking collaborative problem solvers and citizens interested in looking for ways to help the Lakes Region become more energy efficient while reducing costs. Join the group to discuss how they can begin to make this happen.

Featured will be a representative from the Town of Cumberland who will share experiences and lessons from forming a municipal energy group as well as a representative from the Efficiency Maine Trust who will talk about the variety of resources available to assist Maine communities and citizens with energy savings.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity for citizens to network and share ideas on these topics. The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting will be facilitated by a group from the Institute for Civic Leadership's Leadership Intensive Program as a part of their practicum project and in conjunction with Opportunity Maine. The Leadership Intensive is an experience-based skill development curriculum for senior and middle management of public, private and nonprofit organizations. Opportunity Maine promotes economic security and sustainable development with innovative investments in the education and skills of our workforce.
