Scouts offer sewing series

SOUTH PARIS — Girl Scouts is offering a “Sewing 101” six-week series for all area girls in grades six to eight. Girls will learn basic sewing techniques, including hand sewing, machine sewing, how to use a pattern, how to handle different textures, and more. During this series, girls will participate in a community service project while honing their new skills. Other projects include a jean patchwork pillow, a pin cushion, or a project of their choice.

The program will be held at Oxford Hills Middle School one day a week for six weeks starting in March from 2 - 4 p.m. All girls in grades six to eight are welcome to participate. The cost of the program is free for currently registered Girl Scouts and $12 for non Girl Scouts (includes a $12 Girl Scout membership fee - membership assistance is available for this fee).
