Residents complete weeklong service trip

STANDISH — In January during winter break, 21 faculty, students and family members from Saint Joseph's College of Maine completed a week-long service trip to Guatemala sponsored by the college. In cooperation with Partners in Development of Ipswich, MA, three faculty members and a 17-member student team helped to construct a medical clinic in the tiny village of Concepcion. Members of the group also cleared land for a new community park and volunteered in a local school.

Local residents participating were Frank Daggett of Harrison, member of the campus ministry staff and Brandon Hall of Casco, elementary education student.
