Dempsey Center offers cancer education for kids

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free workshop for kids ages five to 12 and their caregivers who have a family member or loved one affected by cancer. “Cancer Education for Kids” will take place Monday, February 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Dempsey Center, 10 High Street, Lewiston, Suite 303.

The educational workshop will discuss what cancer is, what it looks like and address common questions. The session will culminate with a field trip to the hospital to explore the inner workings of radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
