Family ice fishing derby part of Winter Fest

HARRISON — The Friendly Village of Harrison Winter Fest features the second annual Family Ice Fishing Derby on February 25, 26 and 27. This youth ice fishing event is held in partnership with "Hooked on Fishing - Not on Drugs."

Grand prize is a youth lifetime fishing license. Each child under 15 will receive a gift bag or bait and bucket with bait at the boat launch. There will be first, second and third prizes for each category of fish caught, with weight determination.

Parents do not need a fishing license to help their children and volunteers will be on hand to help teach children and families.

There will also be a Sportsmen show at the town office. Burgers, dogs, hot chocolate and a warm fire will be available at the boat launch.
