Take-A-Chance auction Saturday
SOUTH PARIS - The Oxford County 4-H Leaders Association is having their annual Take-A-Chance Auction on Saturday, November 13, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the auction starts at 6 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available.
Hundreds of items will be available, including homemade mittens, hats, Christmas tree skirts, wall hangings and slipper socks, plus a lot of gift certificates from local businesses. There will be a dollar table; some of the items on that will be a 30-minute plane ride, Portland Pirates tickets, a bike and other items.
The money raised is used to provide 4-H Youth Development opportunities to young people. Some of the 4-H programs are environmental education, community service, animal studies, leadership skills, group interaction, arts, safety awareness and much, much more.
4-H education focuses on the importance of learning responsibility, respect, life skills and leadership though a variety of hands-on project choices. So come and help out Oxford County 4-H and support local businesses that have generously donated goods or gift certificates.
READY FOR AUCTION - Members of What Ever 4-H Club are getting items ready for the 4-H Oxford County Leaders Association Annual Take-A-Chance Auction. From left are Brittany Farrar, Taylor Farrar, Arianna Greene and Haley Wakefield and in front of the table is Ashlee Farrar.
