Bridge club meets

OXFORD - Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Friday in the Rec. hall on King St. in Oxford at 9:15 a.m. A four-table Howell movement was enjoyed.

Finishing first in flight A were Mary Trafton (Waterville) and Linda Leotsakos (Chelsea); second were Dick Allen (New Gloucester) and Les Buzzell (Auburn). Third were Priscilla Rooth (Brunswick) and Hazel Glazier (Norway), who were also first in flight B.

Second in flight B were Carol Curran (Bridgton) and Barbara Vanderzanden (Waterford); third were Milton McKeen (Bridgton) and Jim Krainin (Windham).

Next Friday there will be another game, same time and place. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are cordially invited. Oxford Hiils Duplicate Bridge club's Christmas party will be held the 17th.

This week's bridge tip:

When responding to a take out double, jump the bidding in your long suit with 9-11 "revalued" points. An unbid five card suit is worth one extra point and an unbid six card suit is worth three extra points. Do not count points for jacks and queens in suits opponents have bid.
