Upcoming holiday market to benefit Historical Society project

POLAND - On Saturday, December 11 the Poland Historical Society will host a Holiday Market/Bakery Sale to benefit the raising of a “Memorabilia Barn.” Over the years the Poland Historical Society has received many generous donations. The purpose of the barn will be to display items donated by area residents that are too large to be displayed in the restored District #22 schoolhouse. Currently there is not enough space and a barn will ensure that items are properly stored and preserved for the future. The barn is to be located to the rear of the schoolhouse and connected by a pass through.

The Holiday Market will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Poland District #22 Schoolhouse, 1229 Maine Street in Poland. It will feature fresh bakery items including cookies, pies, breads, rolls and candy. Gift items will also be available for purchase. A luncheon will be held, which will feature homemade corn chowder, beef stew, crackers, coffee, tea and assorted pies. Sale proceeds will directly benefit the building fund for the Historical Society’s Memorabilia Barn. There will be something for everyone. Please join in and support preserving Poland’s unique history.
