Marsden to speak at South Paris church

SOUTH PARIS - "Buddhism, My Spiritual Path to Inner Peace" will be the sermon topic of Ms. Cynthia Marsden, the worship leader at the 10 a.m. service of the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris, Sunday, November 28. Ms. Marsden comes from a bitterly divided protestant family. While being "greatly disturbed by religious communities that exclude and even sabotage other communities," she "began an interest in comparative religions as well as a wariness of their exclusivity." She has been a practicing Buddhist for about 20 years. In addition she teaches English, French and Spanish at Hebron Academy.

Terry Twitchell will lead the opening portion of the service and do the readings. Forest Perkins, organist and the choir will lead the music and Renee Wales will direct the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are invited.
