St. Peter's announces cookbook sale

BRIDGTON - The folks at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bridgton are famous for the food they offer at potluck meals, coffee hours and public suppers. Now the parishioners have compiled their favorite recipes along with a few stories into a cookbook entitled "Food for the Soul." In "Food for the Soul" you'll find recipes for appetizers, soups and stews, salads, main entrees, vegetables, breads, desserts and this and that. Some of these are family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. All are "delish."

This 192-page book contains 265 recipes. The cost is $15. All proceeds benefit the outreach programs of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church is involved in many ministries of outreach through which parishioners take the compassion of Jesus into the world to meet the needs of those beyond the parish family. The Outreach Committee works to increase awareness of needs in the local and surrounding communities as well as worldwide concerns. Outreach programs include but are not limited to Bridgton Health Care Center, St. Peter's Cafe, Bridgton Food Pantry, Christmas for Teens, camperships, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Child Fund International, Haiti Companion Mission and special offerings for the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund.

To purchase copies of "Food for the Soul," stop by the church office at 42 Sweden Road, Bridgton or call 647-8549.
