WEST PARIS — “It is the month of June, the month of leaves and roses.” (Nathanial Parker Willis). All are welcome to attend Worship Services at the First Universalist Church until June 17, with the summer pause until September. Services are presented with a combination of Worship Service Committee members and guest speakers, and begin at 9 a.m.

The Sumner First Universalist Church offers worship services at 11 a.m. during the months of July and August, and is located at 1148 Main Street, West Sumner.

June 3 - “Love and Listening” led by The Reverend Glenn H. Turner, Glenn is a graduate of Brown Univ. 1957. He received an M.Div. from the Starr King School for the Ministry in 1962. An Honorary Doctorate from SKSM in 2005 was, in part, due to his work in promoting Small Group Ministry. He served churches in Yakima and in Tacoma, WA, in Natick/Sherborn, MA, and in Baton Rouge, LA, and was District Minister in the Northeast District from 1982 until his retirement in 2000.

June 10 - Seventh Principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part, led by church member, Jim Marshall. They will also celebrate blessing the animals.

June 17 - “Simple Gifts, Too,” the symbols of Unitarian Universalism explained, led by Ann Johnson who recently retired from teaching at Antioch College. She is a member of the Norway UU Church. Ann invites people attending the service to bring an item that is meaningful and represents UU to them.
