Day of Prayer planned

OXFORD — The National Day of Prayer is a time set aside for the nation to pause and seek God.

Here in the Oxford Hills area, the National Day of Prayer Task Force has organized an annual observance of this special day. This year, that observance will take place at the Hosanna Church (109 Schoolhouse Road) in the Welchville section of Oxford. The time will be 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3.

Several pastors and other spiritual leaders in the community will be leading prayers for specific areas of need.

A new addition this year is this: some of the pastors will stay behind following the formal program to pray for the needs of people who may need a job, wisdom, provision of some kind, or whatever need may be pressing upon them.

Refreshments, provided by people from the host church, will also be available after the prayer time is over.
