Maine Machine hails graduate

PARIS — Maine Machine Products, located in South Paris, recently congratulated Norman Parks, 2012 high honors graduate of CMCC’s Precision Machining Technology degree program, and now a full time associate at MMP.

Parks graduated from Buckfield High School in 2010 and was accepted into the Apprenticeship program at MMP where he received a full scholarship to cover the cost of tuition, books and fees. The program offers a broad training experience in the metal products industry through a combination of classroom study and assigned shop activities.

“I especially liked the hands on application of the program allowing me to work while going to school, developing trade skills and becoming familiar with standards common to the industry,” commented Parks. “I am embarking on a great career in a high tech industry where my skills are needed and I have a future.”

Since 1974, Maine Machine Products, has awarded over 60 scholarships to students enrolled in the Precision Machining Technology program at Central Maine Community College. The program has been so successful for MMP, that over half of the scholarship recipients are still employed with the company today.
