CMCC offers leadership course for health care professionals

AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer Leadership in Healthcare, a five-part series for managers and supervisors in the health care profession, on Thursdays, March 24 through April 21 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The cost of the program is $315 and includes materials.

This course will introduce participants to the fundamental principles for effective leadership in a range of health care settings. Students will learn the essential skills to improve leadership, interpersonal and general supervisory skills.

Program highlights include how to interview and hire the best candidates, delivering well-planned employee orientations, communicating performance expectations, understanding leadership styles and handling difficult situations. Case studies and real-life scenarios will enhance the learning experience.

The course will be facilitated by Thomas Reichard. Reichard is a recognized leader in health care human resources administration with over 30 years experience. He is an authority on employee relations, compensation programs, benefits management, organizational development and quality process improvement.
