Glass Art exhibit at Gallery 302
BRIDGTON - An exhibit of the stunning glass creations of artist Nathan Macomber will be shown at Gallery 302 from December 4 - 31. Nathan lives in Conway, NH, where he has his own glass blowing studio.
Nathan Macomber first blew glass at Massachusetts College of Art in 1995. He was hooked from the first bubble. In 1999 he received his B.A. in glass from Prescott College in Prescott, AZ. He has also studied at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina and the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine. Nathan has also served as an instructor for the Corning Museum of Glass, the Snow Farm craft school in Massachusetts and he teaches private classes at his studio in Conway, NH.
After serving as Studio Manager for Antonius Studios in Prescott, AZ for seven years, Nathan moved to the family farm in the White Mountains of Conway, NH, where he has set up his own studio. In 2003 he juried into the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen with his blown glass work and in 2005 he juried in his metal work which he often combines with his glass. Nathan has been serving on the League's glass jury since 2006. You can find Nathan's work at galleries and fine craft shows throughout New England. There will be a wine and cheese reception at Gallery 302 on Saturday, December 4, from 5-7 p.m. Nathan's glass work may also be seen during regular gallery hours, which are 12-5 p.m. Monday - Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
