Artists, fine crafters invited to apply

PARIS — The Moore Park Art Show in South Paris is inviting applications for an outdoor celebration and sale of original arts, Saturday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date July 29) in the historic park located directly on Route 26.

Chandler Funeral Homes and Oxford Federal Credit Union recently partnered with the show to offer $500 in purchase awards for artists. The show will again feature art, live music and dance and local foods in the Route 26 venue but this year will feature the-larger-than-life street theater of Trash Into Art and special performances only seen at the spectacular Circus Olé.

Three $100 awards will be judged by regional arts professionals in painting, fine craft (3-D work like work carving, stained glass, jewelry, metal sculpture, etc.) and photography. Photos of award winners will be published in print, on the web and through Constant Contact with links to their websites and contact information.

Two special artists will be chosen to receive a $300 and $200 purchase award, respectively sponsored by Chandler Funeral Homes and Oxford Federal Credit Union.

The event is presented by the Town of Paris, Parks and Recreation Department and is sponsored by the Mahoosuc Arts Council. Proceeds raised help to support the free summer performing arts series which serves many hundreds of children, adults and elders in Moore Park each year.

All artwork must be the original design and creation of the exhibitor. Images must be submitted by anyone who has not previously exhibited in the Moore Park Art Show. Booth space is limited so early application is encouraged.

Single 10 x 10-foot booths are $60 for one exhibitor, $70 for two and $90 from groups. Applications must be received by July 1 for inclusion in the Moore Park Art Program.

Food vendors and community booth applications are also being accepted. 10 x 10 food booths are $70 and include electricity and 10 x 10 community booths are $25 for nonprofit organizations.
