Art Challenges in December for Pre-K- 6th grade

NORWAY - The Norway Memorial Library is hosting a series of Art Challenges for children in Pre-K through sixth grade. Participants may choose to work on the challenge individually, in groups, or they may ask for help from family members. To register for the Art Challenge and pick up materials, please come in to the Children’s Room at the Library.

The Art Challenge is ongoing throughout the school year. There will be a new challenge available in the Children's Room on the first of every month. Once the participants have completed the task, return the finished artwork to the library where it will be on display for the fourth week of each month. Each Art Challenge should be submitted with the artist's name as well as the name of the book that served as the inspiration for the creation. Children who complete all nine challenges during the school year will receive a prize. Each month children will receive a participation certificate congratulating them for meeting the challenge.

In December the challenge will be available from Wednesday, December 1 through Wednesday, December 15. The library will have a packet of information containing this month's challenge material, a plastic circle, and a registration form with instructions. An example piece of artwork will be on display at the library. Completed art challenges are due on Wednesday, December 15. Please make sure to bring the title of the book that served as inspiration so that it can be put on display next to the artwork.

Remember, have fun and be as creative as possible. The artwork will be on display from December 20 to December 30. Stop in to check out the fantastic artwork the children have done. If you have any questions, please contact the Children’s Room at 743-5309.
