Norway Memorial Library taking part in “Snapshot Day: Libraries Connect”

NORWAY - Norway Memorial Library is joining libraries across the state in participating in “Snapshot Day: Libraries Connect” on Tuesday, November 9 to show how important academic, public, school and special libraries are to the citizens of Maine. Snapshot Day is being sponsored by the Maine State Library, Maine Library Association, and the Maine Association of School Libraries.

On November 9, Norway Memorial Library will compile statistics, customer comments, photographs and other data chronicling a typical library day. The results collected at this library will be added to those of other libraries across Maine to show how libraries provide invaluable services to Maine citizens. Please visit a Maine library on this day to show your support and interest.

Linda Lord, Maine State Librarian, commented, “The collective data from Snapshot Day 2009 stunned some policy makers. Our Maine libraries are busier than ever and provide more services than ever. We are hoping for even more libraries to participate in 2010, so we can demonstrate to supporters and decision makers the importance of library service.”
