Auditions set for Vivid Motion show

WESTBROOK — Vivid Motion will hold auditions for its upcoming spring dance show, Hollywood Dreams, to be performed April 8-10 at the St. Lawrence in Portland.

Auditions will be Sunday, January 30, from 1-4 p.m. in the auditorium of The Warren Memorial Library, 479 Main St. in Westbrook. Dancers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend; no formal training is necessary but a love of dance and willingness to try new things is. Auditions will be held in a class format: doors open at 1 p.m. for paperwork, and movement will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. Please wear dancewear or clothes you can move in, dance shoes or bare feet and have long hair tied back.

Directed by Byron Nilsen, this show will be sure to have something for everyone who loves any aspect of Hollywood. It is the story of a young woman on the verge of adulthood. She must decide if she will follow her parents' wishes to continue her education or her dreams of going to Hollywood to try and make it as a performer.

Rehearsals will be in Westbrook and/or Portland on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., February 5-April 3. You must be available for at least one day per weekend and for all evenings on the week of April 4-10.
