OHMPAA auditions scheduled

NORWAY — Auditions for Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association’s (OHMPAA) first show of the 2011 season, "Run For Your Wife," a British farce by Ray Cooney, will be held Monday, January 31 and Tuesday, February 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rowe School, Main Street, Norway (please use rear entrance and look for signs).

Auditioners may prepare a monologue from another source, but it is not required. All will be asked to read from the show script. Perusal scripts are available at both Paris and Norway libraries. Those looking to work on the show in a technical capacity should also attend auditions.

John Smith is a London taxi driver who keeps very irregular hours. He is married to Mary. They have an apartment in Wimbledon. And, he’s married to Barbara. They have an apartment in Streatham. While foiling a mugging, John is injured (the old woman who’s being mugged thinks he’s one of the muggers, and beats him senseless with her bag). At the police station, John gives Mary’s address and at the hospital, he gives Barbara’s address, and his troubles begin.

Performance dates for "Run For Your Wife" will be March 31 through April 3 and April 7 through 10 at the Norway Grange Theater. Tickets will go on sale at Books ‘N’ Things, Main Street, Norway on March 7.
